Dr. Steve Puntenney

Animal Science

Dr. Puntenney’s distinguished career in animal science. He conducted research concentration on immune function in transition dairy cows fed anionic diets.  He has worked in the U.S. Feed Industry for the past 30 years.   In 2000, he established Feed Services, Inc., a dairy management and nutrition consulting firm that provides services to 60 dairies and beef cattle feeders in Oregon, Washington, and Colorado.  In 2002, he and Dr. Neil Forsberg established OmniGen Research, LLC, a company with a vision to advance the science of immunology in the livestock industry with specialties in the development of  antibiotic alternatives for the dairy industry.  He served as president and CEO of OmniGen Research, LLC. Through 2012 and then as a consultant to Phibro Animal Health Corporation through 2015.  Currently, Steven is the owner of Corsair Angus Ranch, a seedstock company providing high value genetics to the commercial cattle industry.  He has served as a regional vice-president for the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association and currently is serving on the OCA legislative committee. 

Dr. Puntenney received a PhD in Animal Science from the Oregon State University.
